Going Back to the Speech–and Seizing the Moment

One of the commercials featured during the Super Bowl yesterday was one produced by Carnival Cruise Line, beckoning people to “come back to the sea” (and of course, to take a Carnival cruise ship to do so) by using the voice of former President John F. Kennedy as a sort of unseen pitch man.

Hearing his voice used in the commercial made me curious about the origins of the excerpt.

So let’s go back to the speech:  The excerpt used in the commercial are from Kennedy’s remarks for a dinner hosted by the Australian Ambassador to honor the crews participating in the 1962 America’s Cup Race.

Listen to the audio below or read the speech.

The takeaway before you breakaway: Seemingly small or unremarkable events can serve as the stage for timeless stories and speeches. Seize the moment!
